Anup Agrawal is Professor and Powell Chair of Finance at the University of Alabama. His research deals with topics in Corporate Finance and Investments, such as Corporate Governance, Mergers and Acquisitions, Executive Compensation, Behavioral Corporate Finance, Corporate Innovation, Corporate Fraud, Insider Trading, Security Analysts, and Market Efficiency. He has published nineteen papers in the top journals in Finance, Accounting, and Law and Economics (Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Accounting & Economics, Journal of Law & Economics, Journal of Business, Journal of Financial & Quantitative Analysis, and Review of Asset Pricing Studies); and multiple papers in other prominent journals including Economic Theory, Financial Management, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Economics and Management Strategy, Journal of International Money and Finance, and Quarterly Journal of Finance. He has presented his research at seminars and conferences around the world. His research has won several Best Paper awards. Before coming to academia, he worked for two years with an international management consulting firm.
